A: Universal Furniture warrants its products against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of the original purchase. For products which Universal Furniture finds to be defective, we will supply repair parts, replace, or provide an allowance for local repair at our option.

Q: Are Special Order Upholstery order cancellations allowed?
A: Cancellations will not be accepted after the order has been entered into production. Order Acknowledgements should be carefully reviewed to ensure compliance with your original order.

Q: How should I clean Universal Furniture pieces?
A: If dirty, clean the finished parts with mild dishwashing liquid and water solution applied on a damp cloth and wipe. The cloth should not be excessively wet.

Q: What are the frames made of?
A: All frames are made with selected hardwoods and engineered hardwood laminates. All frames feature interlocking glued joints. High-stress joints are glued, and corner blocked for durability.

A: Yes, the zippers are a function of manufacturing and not for the purpose of removing for cleaning and are on all cushions.
Q: Is there a warranty on cushions, frames, etc?
A: Frames Limited Lifetime - Universal Furniture warrants to the original retail purchaser, protection against manufacturing defect in wood frame components. The warranty applies for the lifetime of the product if it remains upholstered in the original fabric.
Springs Limited Lifetime - Universal Furniture warrants to the original retail purchaser, protection against manufacturing defect in spring components. The warranty applies for the lifetime of the product if it remains upholstered in the original fabric.

Mechanisms 3 Year Warranty -
Universal Furniture warrants to the original retail purchaser, protection against manufacturing defect in metal mechanism components. The warranty applies for 3 years from the time of delivery of the product if it remains upholstered in the original fabric.
Mattresses 3 Year Warranty -
Universal Furniture warrants to the original retail purchaser, protection against manufacturing defect in the innerspring sleeper mattress. The warranty applies for 3 years from the time of delivery of the product if it remains upholstered in the original fabric. This warranty excludes coverage for the loss of foam resiliency under normal, noncommercial conditions. The softening of foam is a normal condition and does NOT constitute the loss of resiliency.

Q: How can I prolong the life of my fabric?
A: Dust and dirt promote premature fabric wear. Vacuum the surface of your furniture regularly, including the deck under the cushions, with the upholstery attachment of your vacuum cleaner. Direct sunlight can cause some fabrics to fade. Care should be taken to limit the amount of direct sun on any piece of furniture.
